In a business world where change is the only constant, there’s one question on the minds of our members: Will my business become the disruptor or the disrupted?
This year, our BC Middle Market Growth Conference is tackling the big ideas behind disruption and examining how they’re impacting local industries. Join us on April 10 to find out how disruptive innovation is changing how we invest, finance growth, how we use transportation and how our companies transact. We’ll help you determine what type of disruption your industry is most vulnerable to, and introduce you to inspiring local players disrupting on the global stage.
No disruption agenda would be complete, without a thought-provoking keynote whose ideas are reshaping industries as we know them. This year we’re thrilled to welcome Christine Duhaime, renowned international speaker, partner at Duhaime Law and founder of the Digital Finance Institute, who will shed light on how blockchain and artificial intelligence are altering the world of banking, financial crime and corruption.
We’re also excited to announce the return of our many sponsors and supporters this year, including Nicola Wealth Management Ltd. as our Official Event Sponsor.
When it comes to navigating change, we’re helping our members stay a step ahead. Right now, we’re offering earlybird rates on tickets. Click here to register and mark your calendars with the dates below:
Stay tuned as we reveal more details on this year’s exciting event program. I look forward to seeing you there.

About BC Middle Market Growth Conference
Now in its 17th year, BC Middle Market Growth Conference has become the leading M&A Conference in Western Canada, with close to 350 attendees, a popular exhibitor trade show and valuable networking opportunities. In 2017, the Association for Corporate Growth relaunched its signature event with an expanded purpose to create growth opportunities for BC middle market businesses, delivering valuable connection opportunities, expanded content and high-impact speakers.
Limited sponsorship opportunities for our 2018 event remain. Contact Sherryl Parsons email@example.com for more information on partnering with ACG British Columbia to showcase and build your brand at our biggest event of the year.
The BC Middle Market Growth Conference (formerly Capital Connection) is the largest M&A conference in Western Canada attracting more than 300 deal makers including corporate officers, national private equity firms, intermediaries, and financing sources. Join us for our 17th annual event on April 10th, 2018!
We are excited about the new opportunities this year’s conference will represent for participants to build new relationships and solidify existing partnerships in continuing to build a strong deal community in British Columbia. In the past, we have focused the conference in providing thought leadership and networking opportunities to the deal making community and connecting business owners to capital providers. We have expanded our purpose to creating “growth” opportunities for BC middle market businesses.
The Growth Conference will kick off with the President’s Reception taking place on the evening of Monday, April 9th, 2018 between 6:00-9:00pm at Hapa Izakaya. The one-day conference will run all-day on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 at The Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver and offers access to the latest in industry knowledge from national thought leaders, interaction with industry peers and networking.
Become an Exhibitor in the Marketplace
Showcase and build your organization by participating in our annual Marketplace. Please note that exhibitor space is limited to sponsors only.
A few Gold Sponsorship opportunities remain if you would like to participate as an exhibitor.
Thank you to our official marketplace sponsor, Norton Rose Fulbright.
The Dealmakers of the Year Awards, which recognizes successful transactions in the M&A middle market, is Vancouver’s premier annual event. We are pleased to present awards to individuals and firms who have demonstrated the entrepreneurial skills and the diligence necessary to build a company’s value and complete a successful transaction.
The 2017 Dealmakers Awards will be held on Thursday, November 9th at The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Steve Patterson, Host of CBC Radio’s The Debaters.
The evening will commence with a Cocktail Reception at 5:30pm, followed by the Dinner Program at 6:30pm, then Dessert & Networking at 8:00pm to complete the evening.
We look forward to seeing you on November 9th, 2017 at The Sutten Place Hotel!
Thank you for an overwhelming response to our rebranded program!
We expanded our content this year and you responded! ACG BC is proud to bring you Western Canada’s leading conference focused on growth on April 11 at Hyatt Regency Vancouver. We’ve never had a more robust program and our attendee list has been growing daily. But with BC Middle Market Growth Conference just six days away, space is limited and registration time is running out.
The topics we’re covering aren’t just for dealmakers, but for business owners, CFOs, CEOs and financiers. And our purpose extends far beyond facilitating connections. We’re helping to drive the most important section of the B.C. economy – the middle market.
Registration provides access to our high-impact speakers and engaging content, our popular exhibitor trade show and networking opportunities with 300 attendees. For the first time this year, it also brings a ticket to our popular President’s Reception on April 10.
If you haven’t already registered, click here.
We also want to take this time to recognize our event sponsors, who are helping us put on an incredible program this year. In particular, our Event Sponsor Nicola Wealth Management. Thank you!
We look forward to seeing everyone next week. See below for a link to the conference agenda and content highlights:
Entrepreneurs John and Chris Nicola join Feature Panel at BC Middle Market Growth Conference
Start-up son and financial guru father speak from opposites ends of growth spectrum
B.C. has been Canada’s growth leader over the past two years, surpassing both Ontario and Quebec. Budding entrepreneurs might be wondering whether now is the right time to start a business, while established entrepreneurs might be looking to scale. For anyone looking for growth advice, The BC Middle Market Growth Conference Feature Panel is a great place to start.
John Nicola, Chairman and CEO of Nicola Wealth Management, has been a veteran of the financial services industry since 1974 and has seen virtually every scenario play out in the business world. With experience ranging from investment management and financial planning to exit strategies and shareholder agreements, he’s witnessed first-hand the rise of the online, digital world of technology.
Chris Nicola is Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of WealthBar, an online automated financial services company. He’s seen his business through the rocky start-up phase through to the middle market. WealthBar has been hailed as one of Canada’s industry leaders when it comes to robo-advising— where software algorithms assess investor portfolios looking for risk and offering investment advice on everything from stocks and bonds to real estate and commodities.
Together the father and son represent two generations of wealth management, one built on innovative planning, and the other on technological innovation. Both will be our keynote speakers on April 11 in a candid discussion on the various stages of growth hosted by Riaz Meghji, Host, Breakfast Television. Formerly known as Capital Connection, the BC Middle Market Growth Conference was rebranded this year to reflect its status as Western Canada’s leading conference on growth, covering key issues for business owners, CEOs and CFOs, dealmakers and financiers. The event’s purpose is to foster growth and help drive the most important sector of the BC economy: the middle market – something both leaders are passionate about.
